Tom is a fully qualified member of the British Acupuncture Council, and began training in acupuncture and Chinese medicine in 2004. While completing a full-time degree course at the University of Westminster, he treated people with various conditions at the university polyclinic, and the NHS Gateway Clinic in Clapham.

He now enjoys treating a wide variety of patients and conditions, and regularly attends advanced training courses. These have included tuina; acupuncture for pregnancy and childbirth; auricular (ear) acupuncture; traditional pulse diagnosis; treating physical pain; and scalp acupuncture for neurological conditions.

He lives near Bristol with his wife and daughter.
