Reiki is a healing method, developed in Japan early in the 20th century. It is activated by intention, working on every level, not just physical symptoms. The word Reiki is Japanese, meaning 'universal energy'. It works on the principle that energy flows through all living things and is vital to well-being. There are many different words for this energy, including 'ki' in Japan, 'chi' in China, and 'prana' in India. Other alternative therapies, such as Acupuncture, T'ai Chi, and Yoga are also based on the idea of free-flowing energy within a person.
Reiki is a holistic therapy, designed to work holistically, restoring and revitalising unbalanced energies and promote a sense of peace and well-being.

In your first session, your practitioner will ask you about the particular concerns you would like help with, any questions you might have and what benefits you are hoping to achieve.
During the treatment, you will lie fully-clothed on a comfortable table (or sit if you would prefer). Your practitioner will then lightly place his or her hands on various parts of your body in a calm and relaxed environment. Follow-up sessions can be booked for long-lasting issues.
